A 34-inch duffle in thick full-grain leather, with a wide opening and three buckled straps. It is luggage on a very large scale.
Why
This bag is huge, heavy and awkward to handle—far too much bag for me. But God, it is beautiful. My husband bought it for his first trip to Africa because this was how he imagined travelling there.
We have plenty of good luggage. I love my tried-and-tested RIMOWA trunks and trust them with my dresses. Yet only this bag consistently draws compliments from drivers, guides, bellboys and complete strangers. A bellboy may struggle with its weight and bulk; the moment he sets it down, out comes “Great bag!”
