A pleasant little river trip

On our first day, the bright little boats moving along the river caught my attention, and we decided to try one. There were several boarding points around Marina Bay; we chose the one beside Marina Bay Sands.

The trip lasted about forty minutes, with several stops, and returned to the same pier. The covered boat held around twenty to twenty-five people, but apart from us there was only one other couple.

We admired Marina Bay Sands from the water, passed the skyscrapers on the opposite bank and the Merlion, then followed the river into the city. It narrowed between picturesque quays lined with colourful, almost toy-like houses, restaurants and cafés.

A lovely outing, and a good way to see part of Singapore and take photographs. I recommend the evening, when the views are particularly beautiful.
